Difficulty cleaning dryer vent.
Laundry vent through roof.
Dryer vents should always be vented through the side of the house and not vented through the roof and ideally the exit should be fairly close to the ground.
Before you clean a dryer vent on the roof vacuum out the vent behind the dryer since it s easier to clean out the length of the vent from the ground floor.
When it does a roof based dryer vent can contribute to damaging the roof.
Don t vent your clothes dryer through the roof.
Then get on the roof and peel back any shingles that may be covering the vent as well as the guard.
When bath fans and clothes dryers vent through the roof they melt a bunch of snow.
Once the vent is exposed use a vent brush first clean the exterior surfaces.
The vent should exit the building through the roof or wall at least 3 feet away from any other building openings and the vent cover which must not include a screen should allow dispersal of.
This may lead to leaks and other costly damage.
I think the roof is a stupid spot to terminate clothes dryer vents because it s difficult to clean and it s a major contributor to ice dams.
When bath fans and clothes dryers vent through the roof they melt a bunch of snow.
From what i read you are allowed to go through the roof however keep in mind maximum length is 35 ft from the dryer and if you use a 45 degree elbow it is 2 5 ft less to bring it to 32 5 ft and a 90 degree elbow if 5 ft less which is then at 30 ft cause every off set is concidere a constriction now i wouldn t personally exhaust out the roof cause you would need the proper vent hood to.
