If the defrost drain is frozen the water will overflow the drain trough and drip down to the bottom of the compartment. At this point we keep a towel under the left refrigerator door to catch the water before it can drip into the freezer. If the freezer leaks water inside it s possible that the defrost drain froze. Remove the drain plug and allow the freezer to drain if your freezer is so equipped.

These hoses can become clogged either with ice or debris.
